Breaking the Fast

My Lenten fast is finally broken! Last night I went to Target, and bought some items. Here are the highlights:
dental floss x 3--I like having extra floss around
quantity boxes of granola bars x 2
cereal x 4
lip gloss that I didn't need, which I promptly dropped and lost in the dark parking lot
picture frame for Tim's grandma
Baby gifts for two friends who had babies during Lent
sweater that is not as cute on as it was on the rack
While I bought a book right after Easter, this Target trip was my first real time shopping for six weeks. That is an all-time high for my adult life. Reflections? I have less desire to shop right now than I have in years. I also didn't miss the actual shopping part, although I missed new clothes. I primarily missed the caffeine part, as alluded to on another post.
A plus of this whole experiment in focusing on the Lord instead of the mall? Well, I have been digging through the accessories bin in my closet more and using things I already own. Another plus? We used the money we saved from not shopping to go out more often with friends. The biggest plus? I feel much less dependence on new items to spruce up my look and my attitude.
